New Orleans Airport Runway Construction Management
BKI was selected by the New Orleans Aviation Board to provide resident inspection services for the drainage improvements for the Runway 10/28 reconstruction project at Louis Armstrong International Airport. Work included inspections of the new replacement concrete box culverts in Canal No. 17 where it crosses Runway 10/28 and numerous storm drain inlets and new subsurface drain culverts adjacent to the runway improvements.
This inspection service was part of the overall inspection team assigned to the total reconstruction of the east/west runway at the New Orleans International Airport.
The project was completed on schedule and the entire construction management team received a letter of appreciation from the New Orleans International Airport Director of Aviation.
Shreveport Independence Stadium Construction Management
BKI was selected by the City of Shreveport to provide construction administration and construction management services for the renovation of the Independence Bowl Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The $30 million renovation project consisted of updating restroom and concession areas; demolishing an existing locker room and replacing it with a new, modern facility; installing a new synthetic turf on the field; improving parking and adding 12,000 new seats and sky boxes to the south end zone area.
BKI monitored and reviewed the work of the multiple prime contractors responsible for the renovations. The firm provided all of the necessary construction management and administration services to insure successful completion of the project, including the review and clarification of shop drawings, tracking the project schedule and eliminating conflicts between contractors, review of the budget and monthly pay estimates, review of all change orders, and coordination with design architect and testing laboratory. BKI also provided full time resident inspection services.
Jefferson Parish East Bank Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Management
BKI was contracted by the Jefferson Parish Department of Public Works to manage the construction of a new facility to consolidate all wastewater treatment on the east bank of Jefferson Parish.
The project was constructed by four separate general contractors, each working on a different area of the plant site. BKI coordinated the work of the four contractors and provided general construction management. BKI reviewed all shop drawings, clarifications and design changes; approved monthly contractors’ invoices; maintained a CPM construction schedule; prepared contract change orders; and provided full-time resident inspection, material testing, and construction close-out.
As part of construction close-out, BKI provided complete piping and instrumentation diagrams of the plant.
The construction cost for the entire project was approximately $60 million.
